Mountain trail

Yesterday turned out to be my best day of this trip.  We put the do not disturb on our door and sat on our balcony reading until 12:00 when the sun disappears and I made spaghetti in garlic and chili again.  Claire went to the pool while I washed up; hang on I remember it being a good day.  Anyway, I managed to work on my book for a few hours which is the first time since February.

In the evening we waked down to the steak restaurant that Ian first spotted where you could sit outside.  Its just a bit further down from where we ate on the first day.  It looked nice and was huge but a little pricey.  We opted for the chatraubrian and were very disappointed.  Although the meat was good, they served it with oven chips and tinned veg.

I think Claire was feeling sorry for me not getting to see the mountain and so gave in.  We had a lovely day driving through wonderful countryside.  Trouble is, where all the best views are you cant stop.  Most of the places they put that you can stop there are few views.  We drove up to San Bartolome  and then onto Santa Lucia before heading back to Fataga for lunch.  Claire had already said that she wanted to eat there when we drove past it the first time.

We had a very nice lunch and drove home so Claire could spend the afternoon by the pool and I could write this up and get on with my book.  That’s why you have been short changed.  See you next year!  Have a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year everyone!
